Working with select trusted partners, I offer specialist permanent white collar Residential Construction Recruitment services to both Clients and Candidates.

Today's Construction market is tough, not only for the Developers and Contractors striving for survival amid planning constraints and the need for land and affordable housing, but for the Recruitment within it.

Strong calibre staff are in short supply and high demand, these people are fully aware of this and should they feel at any time that they are not entirely happy in their current role, they will rarely post their CV on job boards.

They are the hidden gems that must be carefully sought out.

Why will they not post their CV on job boards? For the very same reason that I would not if I were in their position, as they would be descended upon by a mass of pushy Recruitment consultants.

Sadly, recruiters are no longer considered to be trustworthy individuals who have the Client's or Candidate's best interests at heart. The market has become rife with money-hungry target-driven call centres who simply look at the Candidate as a commodity that is to be traded for a fat fee, they have lost sight of what their "product" is.

To me, Recruitment is not about selling a "product" to a Client, it never has been and it never will be.

Candidates are people with feelings, families and livelihoods to protect. Every Candidate is different and every Candidate deserves to be able to trust in their Recruitment consultant to do the right thing by them, being transparent, honest and going the extra mile to find them the right role that fits their criteria.

As the saying goes, "If you enjoy your job you will never have to work a day in your life", and it thus stands to reason that people who are happy in their jobs do not leave.

Of course I am not a miracle worker, nobody is perfect and we can't get everything right 100% of the time, but my word is my bond and what I can guarantee is that I will always give 100% effort to find the best fit for Client and Candidate alike.

About Emma Dixon

Having spent several years in employed Recruitment as a specialist in the Residential Construction sector, I made the decision to step away from employment to do things my way.

I resented the high pressure environment where I was expected to sell a "product" to a Client and in some cases even asked to "recycle" candidates by poaching them after the rebate period had surpassed.

For me this took away everything that I enjoyed about Recruitment.

It was asking me to be dishonest to the Clients and Candidates with whom I had built bonds, and this went against everything that I stand for.

Now, as an independent Recruitment consultant, I am proving that it is possible to Recruit with Integrity.
